Plus user and facing exact same issue , for simple things also i need to wait for 5 - 10 min which is wasting my time and affects the efficiency of my project works. this is after chatgpt 5 is there a way to go back to 4 ? i may not renew next month if they behave the same way…
I have the same experience, I am a plus user, GPT runs increasingly slow, and I am also experiencing a degradation of quality in terms of responses, over agreeing, lack of scrutiny and critical thinking.

Same here…. many of my requests are waiting for a few minutes until the browser asks me if I wish to exit the page due to unresponsive page.
Usually I need to close the page and reload chatgpt to see what the response was.

Yeah, I’m a Plus user and often see this issue. Unfortunately, it’s completely unsolvable. GPT-5 has made it worse.
I am a ChatGPT user since 2023 and a Plus user over a year. My ChatGPT 5 is so slow these days, especially over Weekends, either with ChatGPT Windows App on my PC or Web (I do not use any VPN). When I am writitng in the Thread, I need to wait 10sec to see what I write. As well, often when I press Enter after writing, the stuff I wrote with images dissapear.
I have the same issue, some times it even take up to 5 min before I can see what I have written in the Thread.
Same here i have been experiencing terrible load times for my chatgpt. Sometimes it takes half an hour to finish printing the result. No lie. It thinks for 2 minutes and then freezes for 28 minutes. I have tried clearing the case and using the app itself. Maybe allow the Windows app to use our GPU for faster loading times. Or at least for application loading while responses happen in the cloud. the resources have not been depleted on the computer it’s only that app that freezes. Works the same on web and Windows app.

slow over time. slow responsiveness when clicking on the chat box or anywhere on the ‘page’.
I noticed that any browser that I had used: Vivaldi, Brave, chrome, Edge, Firefox. It’s all slow or becomes slow. I had noticed that it was a bit faster with Safari on a macbook when I was testing it and the response time was better.
i’ll probably delete my chat gpt account since I doubt openai will look into this issue.
My most recent issues is that it takes forever to respond. I’ve had to give it the same instructions over and over again.
every single day consistently slow for the past weeks. tried it with chrome and safari. just cancelled my subscription and going to try other AI assistants.
Clear your browsing cache - history/cookies/etc (on every browser)
There has still not been any attempt to fix this. To me at least, it appears that the length of conversations you can have before it starts freezing the browser just grows shorter and shorter.
Let’s clear one thing up. This isn’t about the context size. The context exists solely within OpenAIs servers, and will not affect client-side rendering. This is entirely due to sloppy web coding (read bloated frameworks).
The irony is that if you didn’t do all of this infinite scroll nonsense and simply rendered it as plain text, it would be infinitely faster.
Has anyone else noticed that ChatGPT is extremely bad the past two days at:
1. Following Instructions
Like it can’t even follow the most simple instructions: eg. (“Give me the new full file including your suggested code changes.”)
And we are talking about a file that has 200 lines of code, absolutely nothing.
2. Being slow
This is related to the first point, it can take it 3 minutes in thinking mode, to attempt to give the full new file. TO THEN DELIVER A NON FULL FILE EITHER WAY.. Like what is going?
It even comments inside the code it generates

3. Randomly decides to create an image
This one is also crazy.. You can talk about code, go back and forth, and then randomly out of the blue on a prompt that was related to code:
”Let me try and create that for you..”
Then it sits there for 5 minutes creating completely random image, with random content in it.
I don’t know like, it hasn’t been like this bad for a long time.
Anyone else experiencing this? I know my friends are, but i’d like more confirmation. Cause this is absurd how it behaves.
