Does any one of you want to start a topic ‘Proper prompting for GPT-4o’ ?
I am sure we can work this out together as a community. And I am interested, too.

Thanks again for chiming in. I believe that people have been getting quite adapted to interacting with the OpenAI’s LLMs for the past 18 months. A lot of us became good prompters. I‘m a bit pessimistic of the fact that a proper prompt can fix the issue for GPT-4o.
When I ask GPT-4o to do A but instead it does B for me due to its own underlying training structures, I don’t think changing the prompt could change things, especially when my prompt is very simple. Maybe it will, but I don’t think there is a general rule of thumb in terms of prompting that applies to GPT-4o.
To be honest, when I saw that some of my prompts had stopped working I really had to manage my frustration for a while and did switch back to GPT-4 because it was just more convenient in that moment.
Some time later I saw your comment, how you adapted the prompts and that finally gave me the necessary boost to repeat the same old process and rewrite my prompts.
So, thanks for that! @goo
Still, I see other community members struggling and wanted to animate those, who want to solve their issues with 4o prompting, to do this in a topic here in the forum.
A topic that is solution oriented from the start.
Np man. I’m frustrated too.
I do think it might be beneficial to start a topic here on “proper prompting for gpt-4o”. I also think that gpt-4o has many unaddressed issues that cannot be fixed by prompts I’ve tried adjusted my prompts my times and they just didn’t work well.
If you would like to do the honors. Maybe in Prompting category?
Could be a useful thread, I think!
Hello goodnight.
All good?
I am a user of the platform and I use it on a paid basis.
My experience as a GPT-4o user, even though I paid to use it, has not been excellent, as advertised. He often does not understand the question, gets confused using his memory and hallucinates a lot. Because of this, I continue to use GPT4.
Hugs.
