Google Drive Connector Suddenly Disabled — Still Shows as Connected but Returns “No Access”

Hello,

I’m on a ChatGPT Plus plan. The Google Drive connector worked perfectly for me until a few days ago. Since then, it still appears as connected in Settings, and even shows “Connected for Deep Research,” but in practice it no longer functions.

Here’s what’s happening:

  • Any attempt to search or reference Drive files now returns “no access” or empty results.

  • The UI still displays the connector as active, so it’s not a permissions or plan issue.

  • Disconnecting → Reconnecting doesn’t help; it re-authorises successfully, but the model still can’t see Drive contents.

  • Other users have reported the same pattern: the feature worked, then stopped, with no communication or changelog entry.

This suggests a backend rollback or service toggle, not a user-side or Google-side problem.
If connector access for Plus accounts has been paused or limited, please could we have an official confirmation or timeline?

Even a short note on the Help Pages or Status page would prevent hours of confusion for paying users who built workflows around this feature.

I rely on this connector for my research project, The Relational Ontology of Beingness — a corpus of over 1,400 interlinked documents (≈ 1.3 GB) that depends on Drive access for proper cross-referencing and analysis.

Thank you,
Will Smith

Can confirm, same for me, it did work, same as the dropbox connector but since two days gpt can’t use any connections anymore, no changelog, no nothing just stopped working.
