Anyone experiencing the global dictation feature of Codex not working on macOS? It used to work well previously with the same shortcuts, but today, after I updated, it’s no longer working. Any fix? Codex Version 26.608.12217 • Released Jun 9, 2026
it is working in the prompt box for me, but not working when I am in annotation mode. Also on same Codex build as you have shown too.
update. I just gave it a restart and now it is working fine everywhere.
Still seeing the same here, app restarts and reboots haven’t fixed it yet.

Have you updated to the latest (which at the time of writing this is 26.609.30741)?

WhisperFlow. Me being always sceptic towards this type of solutions because of my accents. This one is definitely worth the subscription.
This looks like a regression introduced after the update rather than a user configuration issue, especially since global shortcuts worked before the same setup. On macOS, global dictation features often depend on system-level accessibility permissions and keyboard event listeners, so a Codex update could easily break the event hook or shortcut mapping layer. It would be useful to verify whether the app is still properly registering the global hotkey and whether macOS Input Monitoring / Accessibility permissions were reset during the update.
