I’ve been experimenting with Sora and ran into a recurring issue:
When I try to generate videos that include German text directly via prompt, the model always seems to render the text in English – regardless of how clearly I specify the language.
Curiously, if I generate an image with German text first, and then convert it into a video, everything works perfectly. The issue seems to affect only the direct video generation from text prompts.
I’m aware that multilingual support is improving rapidly, and that Sora theoretically can handle non-English inputs. But in practice, even explicit prompts like “text in clear German letters” or “the sign says ‘Danke’ in German” get ignored or replaced with English text.
Has anyone figured out a reliable workaround for this?
Is this a known limitation at the moment, or are there any tricks (e.g. formatting, language tags, punctuation) that help?
