Frequent File Expiration Issue

I am encountering an issue where uploaded files expire quickly, often within a single session. This disrupts my workflow as I rely on analyzing these files for ongoing projects. The process of repeatedly re-uploading documents is highly inconvenient and affects the efficiency of using the platform.

Could you please address the following:

  1. Why do files expire so quickly, and can this duration be extended?
  2. Is there a way to retain file accessibility for an extended period?
  3. Are there any settings or subscriptions that could resolve this limitation?

and where is the “help center mail” or “Submit a request”.

Hi @gguboy

Welcome :people_hugging: to the community!

The OpenAI Help Center says:

Files uploaded are deleted within a duration that varies based on your plan. After that point, files are deleted and will need to be re-uploaded to re-engage.

However, no specific time (in minutes) is given for when files are deleted.

From my experience, files are generally deleted between 15-30 minutes. But how the system determines the exact deletion time isn’t clearly explained.
