Formatting of code in messages to chatgpt

Code generation is a major advertised feature of ChatGPT, and therefore should be supported with a great user experience. Currently, however, it is lacking. When you send a message to ChatGPT that includes a code snippet, you do not get any formatting, syntax highlighting, etc. It is plain text, even when fenced by ``` code markers. This is, frankly, absurd. Clearly it filters out the ``` markers, so why not replace them with and at least and add some syntax highlighting? You could use the same component already used in the responses. Anyway, I’ll stick to claude for codegen because of this until it is fixed.

Also, for a few languages using their formatters would be cool (but icing on the cake).

Completely agree.

Claude AI actually highlights code in the text box.
