I have been using ChatGPT extensively for interior and exterior image editing, and I am genuinely impressed by how well the image generation understands detailed instructions and reference images.
For example, I can upload a moodboard together with a photo of a room and ask ChatGPT to apply the style to that room. I can also upload a specific piece of furniture and a photo of the room where it should be placed. The results are often remarkably accurate and realistic.
Because of this, I would actually be happy to pay for more image generations. However, the current monthly subscription model is not always ideal for this type of user. My suggestion: image-generation credits
It would be great to have the option to purchase a fixed amount of image-generation credits, for example:
- 20 image generations
- 50 image generations
- 100 image generations
- 250 image generations
The credits could remain available for a longer period, for example 6 or 12 months, rather than expiring at the end of a single subscription month.
Once the credits are used, users could simply purchase another package.Why I think this could work well
Image editing is often project-based. Someone might spend several evenings working intensively on a renovation project and generate many images in a short period, but then not use ChatGPT for image generation for several months.
Paying for a full month can therefore feel expensive if the user only has one week available to work on the project.
For example, €23 for one month may feel like a lot if I only have time to use the service for a few evenings. But I would be much more likely to spend €23 on 100 image credits that I could use over the next six months.
This could potentially attract users who currently want to upgrade but don’t because they are worried they won’t use enough of the monthly allowance.
The existing monthly subscription could of course remain for heavy users. A credit-based option would simply give occasional users another way to pay.
I think this would be particularly useful for people working on:home renovations
- interior design
- garden design
- holiday homes
- real-estate visualisations
- DIY projects
- furniture placement
- architectural ideas
I am sharing this because I really like the image-generation feature and would genuinely consider paying for it more often if there were a flexible credit option.
