Find in current chat for macOS desktop app

I need to be able to command + F search for keywords I typed previously on the desktop app. Instead of searching the current chat (like the browser version does because chrome controls it) it tries to search all of my chat history.

And even with current search when you look for some word or phrase the app points you to the answer but is not highlighting anything. You actually need to look by yourself and it’s daunting considering how verbose generated answers are. And what if the looked phrase is mentioned in few generated answers?

It is also worth to mention that the search may not be working properly. It gives me false positives sometimes.

I’m considering “find” functionality unfortunately broken:

  • it lacks “find in current chat”
  • not highlighting matches
  • no option to jump to next match
  • gives false positives

Actually nothing more sophisticated than basic search functionality is requested. If it will work like in a web browser then it will be already enough. What would be nice:

  • search in current chat
  • search in chats
  • option for case-sensitive matching is a fancy but might be useful
  • highlight matches in answers
  • jump to previous/next match

Absolutely!

Without in-chat search the macOS app is essentially useless as I might as well just use the browser.
