This is not a help request — I’m reporting a functionality change that is affecting normal usage across Android and desktop.
When uploading any image using the new “+” button, the file being received by ChatGPT is not the original file. It is a preview/thumbnail version, which breaks any features that rely on the original resolution (QR decoding, OCR, document reading, etc.).
This has started happening since the removal of the paperclip icon. This impacts normal usage for a large number of people and appears to be a platform-wide behavior change rather than a one-user issue.
If this is intentional behavior, clarification would help. If it’s unintentional, it needs visibility because it disables core ChatGPT functionality.
