I’m facing two issues for the past 3 days:
File upload is failing – uploads are not working in general.
Assistant not using uploaded files – when files are uploaded into the assistant, the responses ignore the files and return random/unrelated answers.
Impact:
Unable to upload files.
Assistant cannot answer questions from uploaded documents.
Request:
Please investigate and resolve these issues.
It seems this has been fixed. It was an issue for the past 3-4 days.
I’ve been trying to use the Assistants API today but I’m not getting proper responses. I tested with both GPT-4.1 and GPT-4o, and the issue persists. Could you confirm if I need to use a specific file type or a specific model?
you can try with gpt-4o, all file types supported via File Search tool should work fine.
Please also check if the files are successfully uploaded to vector store
I have tried with both gpt-4o and gpt-4.1 now and it is still not working. The response generated are definitely not from the uploaded files.
Also I am able to upload docx file but I am not able to add it to vector store.
If the file is failing to attach to vector store then file search tool won’t work.
Then the issue lies with file upload
