I’d love to see a timestamp and tagging feature in ChatGPT to improve long-term tracking and usability. Here’s how it could work:
Toggleable Timestamps – Option to display the date & time for each chat entry, helping users track when key discussions happened.
Tagging System – Ability to mark important moments (e.g., “Launched my first coaching package”) and filter/search by tags.
Progress Timeline – A way to view tagged milestones in a timeline format for better long-term review.
This would be invaluable for professionals, students, and goal-oriented users who rely on ChatGPT for structured planning and project development.

Study & Research Tracking – Students using ChatGPT for academic work could track when they discussed certain topics, helping them revisit key insights efficiently.
Note-Taking & Literature Review – Users managing research materials (e.g., in Obsidian or Zotero) could tag important insights (e.g., “Key theory explanation” or “Exam prep notes”) to easily retrieve relevant discussions.
Long-Term Learning & Course Planning – People studying for a degree (like me) could see when they last reviewed a subject, track progress on modules, and revisit specific learning milestones.
Example from my own use case:
I’m currently studying, and I use ChatGPT to:

If I could tag key moments (e.g., “Exam prep for research methods” or “First draft of test construction notes”) and see timestamps for when these discussions happened, it would help me track progress over time and improve my learning efficiency.
