Hi everyone,

I have a feature idea for ChatGPT that I think would significantly improve the user experience, especially during long conversations.

**The Problem:**
When having a long, detailed chat, asking a quick side-question or exploring a tangent completely clutters the main chat history. It makes it hard to go back and follow the original train of thought.

**The Solution: Temporary Branches**
I would love to see a feature where we can create a “temporary branch” or side-chat right from a specific message.

- This would allow us to ask off-topic questions in the middle of a session without messing up the main conversation flow.
- Once we get our answer, we can close the branch, keeping the main chat clean and organized.

What do you all think? Would this be useful for your workflows?
