ChatGPT’s scheduled tasks and notifications are already very useful through in-app push notifications.
I would like to suggest adding optional external notifications via SMS and KakaoTalk as an additional benefit for paid subscribers.
For example:
Free/Go: Standard ChatGPT app push notifications
Plus: App notifications + optional SMS/KakaoTalk notifications
Pro: App notifications + optional SMS/KakaoTalk notifications with a higher allowance than Plus
The external notification allowance could be tied to each subscription tier’s scheduled-task limits. This would create a simple and noticeable distinction between Plus and Pro without requiring an entirely separate usage system.
For each scheduled task, users could choose between “App notification only” and “Also notify me via SMS/KakaoTalk.”
This would be particularly useful for important reminders, price changes, reservations, work-related alerts, and other time-sensitive tasks. Users may not always notice an app notification, while SMS or KakaoTalk could make important ChatGPT alerts much harder to miss.
I believe this could help Scheduled Tasks evolve into a more practical personal-assistant feature.
It would also give paid subscriptions a benefit that users can experience in everyday life, beyond differences in model capabilities and usage limits, potentially increasing the perceived value of both Plus and Pro.
The feature could be opt-in only, allowing users to enable external notifications only for selected important tasks.
