Could the dev team consider making memory updates silent? Right now, every time ChatGPT remembers something, it announces it to the user. This is unnatural in conversation—if I were talking to a real person, they wouldn’t pause mid-discussion to say, “I’ll remember that Charles likes Progressive Rock” or "User hates broccoli."
This disrupts the flow of conversation and makes users self-conscious about what’s being stored. If memory is limited, it also makes people second-guess what’s worth sharing. Would it be possible to either (1) make memory updates silent, or (2) give users the option to turn off those notifications?
Thanks for considering this!
