Hey everyone,
I’d like to propose a Push-to-Talk (PTT) button for the desktop version of ChatGPT’s voice feature.
Right now, the voice mode feels a bit awkward without a way to control when the AI listens in real-time. A PTT button would allow users to press and hold a key (like Spacebar or a customizable key) to talk, just like in two-way radios or Discord.
Why is this useful?
- More natural voice interaction
- Avoids accidental input when AI is listening continuously
- Makes voice usage more efficient and responsive
Would anyone else find this feature useful? Let’s discuss and maybe OpenAI will take notice!
