Documents are often created as a part of any interactive session. These documents frequently represent a mashup of user provided content, chat context and LLM output. I recently noticed that “OpenAI” was inserted into the AUTHOR property on a docx.
Most of the time I see “python-docx” in here, which is ok.. Controlling this as an account level attribute would be beneficial. Have a check box labeled “populate document meta data” which would then enforce populating meta data from the account owner profile (Name, company, etc).
This leaves the author in control of how meta data properties on documents, spreadsheets and powerpoints is populated.
Indicating that OpenAI “authored” the document is incorrect and create confusion. There are other meta data fields which could be utilized to “stamp” the document as having been touched by AI.
