Feature Request: Notification Sound or Push Notification for Completion of Reasoning Tasks
When using reasoning-intensive models like o3 and o4-mini-high, response times can be relatively long. It would be extremely helpful to have an optional notification sound or browser/system push notification to alert the user once the response is complete.
While I’m aware that browser extensions and user scripts exist to provide such functionality, I believe this is a universal feature that deserves to be natively integrated into official ChatGPT. Many users would benefit from this, and it would significantly improve usability in real-world multitasking scenarios.
