Hello,
I’d like to suggest a quality-of-life improvement for the ChatGPT interface. Currently, the input field behaves like a single-line input
, which limits how comfortably I can write complex queries. It would be a significant improvement if the input field could be changed to a multi-line textarea
. This would allow users to write freely without accidentally submitting the query by pressing Enter
.
Additionally, incorporating a keyboard shortcut like CTRL+Enter
(or another common shortcut) for submitting queries would make the experience more fluid and aligned with the behaviour of many text editors and chat applications.
This change would enable users to:
- Compose longer or more structured queries without interruptions.
- Use the
Enter
key freely within the text area to create new lines. - Submit the query when they are ready with a shortcut like
CTRL+Enter
or regularSend
button, which is commonly used across various platforms.
Thank you for considering this request!
Best regards,
Burak
