In long conversations, users often need to return to a specific, detailed explanation, not the entire chat. Please consider adding ability for user-created bookmarks at message level, anchor links, or a conversation index that lets users save and jump to specific responses. This would be especially helpful for users who rely on ChatGPT for technical instructions, troubleshooting, research and ongoing work threads.
I’m not a developer, but I use ChatGPT for detailed technical explanations and ongoing work conversations. I’d like the ability to bookmark or anchor specific responses inside long chats, then return to them from a mini-index or saved list.
I’m aware of the concept of creating searchable markers. These are not as user-friendly b/c 1) I don’t think to do that during convos where I’m goal-oriented, 2) it’s challenging to search for the correct marker name, which I’ll more than likely forget.
