Hello OpenAI team,
First of all, thank you for the incredible work you’re doing with ChatGPT – it’s changing the way many of us interact with technology, and I truly appreciate the experience so far.
I’d like to make a feature request regarding the voice functionalities inside the ChatGPT app.
Currently, when I receive a written response from ChatGPT, I can tap the speaker icon (the little voice/sound button) and hear a voice reading the message out loud. I really like that voice – it’s clear, calm, warm, and emotionally neutral in a very comforting way. It feels just right for me.
However, when I switch to the voice conversation mode (using the microphone to speak directly with ChatGPT), the voice is different – one of the custom voices like “Juniper,” “Ember,” etc. While these voices are expressive and well designed, I personally feel much more comfortable with the simpler voice used by the text-to-speech (TTS) playback button.
My suggestion: Could you please add the option to use the TTS “playback voice” as one of the available voices for the voice conversation mode?
Even if it’s less expressive, some of us really connect more with that tone and simplicity.
Thank you for reading this. I hope others who feel the same can support this idea.
Warm regards,
Enric
