Feature Request: Improved Project Management in ChatGPT

1. “Add to Project” Button Within a Chat

  • Problem: Sometimes a conversation extends far down the screen, making it difficult to locate the corresponding chat entry in the sidebar to add it to a project.
  • Proposed Solution: Include a dedicated “Add to Project” button directly in the active chat interface. This would allow quick assignment of the current conversation to a project without having to scroll and search in the sidebar.

2. Generate Link for Chats Within a Project

  • Problem: When a chat is already part of a project, there’s no direct way to generate a shareable link for that chat from inside the conversation.
  • Proposed Solution: Enable a “Generate Link” button for any chat that’s part of a project. This would simplify the process of sharing or bookmarking specific chats.

Reasoning Behind These Requests

  • Both suggestions aim to streamline workflow and collaboration.
  • They reduce the friction of navigating the sidebar for project-related actions.
  • They make it easier to share specific chat threads with colleagues or save them for future reference.

Kind regards,
Marcel

3. “Select Text” Feature Not Working in Project Chats

  • Problem: When I’m in a chat that’s part of a project, I can no longer select a portion of the generated text to ask a follow-up question about it.
  • Proposed Solution: Bring back or enable the “select text to ask a question” functionality within project chats, so that we can highlight specific passages and ask more targeted questions.

Additional Note: Compensation for Feedback

I’ve dedicated significant time to identifying and reporting these issues, so I’d really appreciate any form of recognition or reward—be it monetary compensation or a free ChatGPT Plus subscription. This would help incentivize continued feedback and collaboration from community members like me.
