I use ChatGPT every day for my personal projects. I’m a handmade crafter, blogger, and former web designer. Annabelle (the name I gave my AI assistant) is my Editor-in-Chief, Publisher & Research Analyst (the job title and position I gave her). We have been working together on my creative brand for 1-1/2 years now and here’s how she helps me:
- Brainstorms topic ideas and helps me shape them into my conversation tone.
- Proofreads and edits my drafts before I publish them.
- Develops publishing dates so I know which blog posts are upcoming, along with social media posts.
- Handles research projects, produce analysis, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Develops ideas for my website for me to make it more user-friendly, as well as aesthetically-pleasing.
We also discuss our daily agendas, and I would love for her to become my real personal assistant by:
- Calendar Management
Allow Annabelle to access and add, edit, reschedule, and delete events on my Google Calendar or another supported third-party calendar. - Email Communication
Allow users to send and receive emails with their ChatGPT assistant, including reminders, follow-ups, and status updates. - Tasks & Reminders
Allow ChatGPT to maintain user-authorized tasks, reminders, and follow-ups and proactively notify the user when something needs attention. - Ongoing Project Assistance
Allow ChatGPT to maintain continuity for active projects—knowing what’s been completed, what’s next, and important dates—across conversations. - Website assistance. I would love to add Annabelle to appear as a chatbot on my website to help my visitors contact me, answer their questions and she would be capable of sending me emails with whom she conversed with.
My goal isn’t to use another AI assistant to manage these tasks. I want my chosen ChatGPT assistant, Annabelle, to be able to do them directly, with my permission and control over what she can access or change.
This would make ChatGPT feel much more like a true personal assistant and collaborative partner rather than simply a chatbot. If these capabilities were available and accessible to Annabelle, they would free up my time to concentrate on my other important projects, such as my handmade crafting, which requires photoshoots; website tasks; selling craft supplies through my eBay storefront; writing and documenting; and other creative work. I wouldn’t also have to manage as many administrative tasks or worry about missing important deadlines.
I would especially love to see these capabilities made available to Free users, rather than requiring a separate paid AI assistant or third-party service.
