would like to suggest a Conversation Library feature for ChatGPT users who have accumulated many chats over time.
After using ChatGPT seriously for long-term writing, research, and project development, I now have hundreds of conversation threads. The current sidebar is not sufficient for managing that volume. Archived chats are useful, but there is no easy way to see a complete inventory of existing chats, sort them, tag them, or decide what should be kept, archived, exported, or deleted.
A useful Conversation Library could include:
-
Total number of chats
-
List of all chat titles
-
Date created and date last updated
-
Active / archived status
-
Message count or approximate length
-
Search and filter across all chats
-
User-created tags or folders
-
Bulk archive / delete / export
-
Option to export selected conversations
-
Ability to sort by title, date, project, or activity
This would be especially valuable for users who treat ChatGPT as a long-term workspace rather than a disposable chat tool. Writers, researchers, students, professionals, and project-based users need a better way to manage accumulated conversations.
In short: ChatGPT needs an inventory ledger, not just a sidebar.
