I’d like to propose shared chats in Codex workspaces where multiple people can collaborate with the same AI in one conversation.

Each participant could add prompts, refine requirements, and give feedback while Codex works. Everyone would share the same conversation context and see the progress and results.

The main features I’d like to see:

- **Named contributions:** Teammates’ messages show their nicknames. Your own messages appear on the right, without a name.
- **Tracked edits:** A history shows who added or changed a prompt, when it changed, and the previous version.
- **Live collaboration:** Team members can contribute additional instructions during an ongoing task.
- **Progress between messages:** Codex processes contributions throughout the conversation, showing which instructions it is applying and what changed.
- **Shared visibility:** Everyone can follow the same work, review changes, and discuss the output together.

For example, one person could request a dashboard, another add functional requirements, a designer refine its appearance, and another teammate request tests—all within the same chat.

This would help teams collaborate around a shared task without repeatedly transferring context between separate conversations.

The attached image is an unofficial concept mockup illustrating the idea.

Note: I was looking for a similar tool while designing an assignment for a university lecture term project. We want the students to collaborate and use llm tools and track how they use them. This could be a great tool for educational tasks rather than work environments I think. (Open to suggestions if there is a plugin or alternative service for this, thanks.)
