Feature Request: Better Library Search and Source-Chat Traceability
The ChatGPT Library would be much more useful with stronger search, filtering, and source traceability.
For users who create many research documents, files, and project-related outputs, it can become difficult to find a specific item again—even when its topic or contents are remembered. It is also not always clear which chat originally produced a Library item.
Helpful improvements could include:

Full-text and semantic Library search

Filters for project, date, content type, model, and topic

A visible link back to the source chat

Clear creation and modification dates

User-defined tags or collections
This would make the Library feel less like passive storage and more like a reliable workspace for ongoing research and creative projects.

Hey @DysTopia! This would make Library much more useful once someone has built up a large collection of research files, documents, and project outputs.
The current search and file type filters help with basic browsing, but remembering what a file was about is not always enough to locate it quickly. Being able to search by content, narrow results by project or date, and see which conversation originally produced an item would make it much easier to pick up earlier work.
The source chat link stands out in particular. When a file was created through a longer discussion, the surrounding conversation can be just as important as the file itself.
Tags, collections, and clearer creation details would also make Library feel more like an organized workspace rather than a list of saved files.
I cannot promise a timeline for changes like this, but I will pass your feedback along internally.
