Feature Request: Back and Forward Navigation Between Chats

Please add Back and Forward navigation buttons to the ChatGPT interface, similar to those in a web browser.

When working with a large number of chats, particularly chats organised into Projects, I frequently move between related conversations. At present, returning to the previous chat or moving forward again can involve searching through the sidebar or reopening a conversation manually.

A simple Back button to return to the previously viewed chat, together with a Forward button to retrace that navigation, would make moving around a large ChatGPT workspace considerably quicker and more intuitive.

Ideally, these buttons would maintain a history of chats viewed during the current session, rather than simply moving to the previous or next chat in the sidebar.

Welcome to the community, @bluesplayer43.

This is a useful feature request, especially for people moving between lots of related chats or Projects. You’re specifically asking for browser-style Back and Forward buttons that follow the chats viewed during the current session, rather than simply moving through the sidebar order.
