Feature Request: Amazon Music Integration for ChatGPT
I’d love to see a native Amazon Music integration added to ChatGPT.
A useful integration would allow ChatGPT, with the user’s permission, to:
- Search the Amazon Music catalog
- Create new playlists
- Add or remove songs from playlists
- Reorder playlist tracks
- Search for specific versions or recordings of songs
- View existing playlists and library items
- Work with Amazon Music Unlimited accounts
Real-world example
I recently used ChatGPT to reconstruct a playlist of praise-and-worship music I remembered from the 1990s.
Through conversation, ChatGPT helped identify songs I remembered, researched the likely original recordings, and built an 80-song playlist using artists and labels such as Maranatha! Music, Integrity/Hosanna!, Don Moen, Ron Kenoly, and Hillsong.
The only remaining step was manually searching Amazon Music for approximately 80 songs and adding them one by one.
With an Amazon Music integration, I could simply say:
“Create this playlist in my Amazon Music account.”
ChatGPT could then create the playlist and populate it with the recordings we had already identified together.
That would turn a lengthy manual process into a seamless conversational workflow.
Why it would be useful
Music is particularly well suited to conversational AI because people often remember songs imperfectly:
- a lyric but not a title
- a song from a certain period
- music associated with a memory
- a genre or mood
- songs played at a particular event
- forgotten artists or albums
ChatGPT can already help users identify and organize that music. Allowing it to create the resulting playlist would complete the experience.
Similar capabilities could include:
“Build me a playlist of songs I listened to in high school.”
“Create a playlist from the songs we’ve identified in this conversation.”
“Make a three-hour road-trip playlist using my favorite artists.”
“Add these ten songs to my existing Christmas playlist.”
“Find the original 1980s or 1990s recording instead of a modern remake.”
For Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers especially, this would be an extremely useful integration.
Please consider adding Amazon Music as a supported ChatGPT app/connector with playlist creation and management capabilities.
