Subject: Feature Request: Add Password Protection for GPTs

Hello OpenAI Team,

I would like to request a new feature for GPTs.

Currently, the sharing options for GPTs are limited to “Anyone with the link” or “Only people I invite.” However, I often need a middle ground where I can share my GPT with a broader audience while still controlling access.

Requested Feature:

:white_check_mark: Add a “Password-Protected Access” option for GPTs

Require users to enter a password before accessing the GPT

Allow sharing without the hassle of manually inviting users

Ensure controlled access without exposing the GPT to the public

Why is this important?

  1. For internal company use – Sharing with employees without individually managing invitations

  2. For premium/paid services – Providing exclusive access to customers with a password

  3. For private projects – Protecting GPTs while allowing selected users to access them

Right now, there is no built-in way to enforce password verification, making it difficult to restrict access efficiently.
If this feature is added, GPTs could be used in a much more flexible and secure way.
