Feature Request: Add Button for Prompt + Response (Context-Preserving Sharing)
As a longtime power user of ChatGPT, I’m requesting a crucial but straightforward UX improvement:
Add a one-click Share button to every response—located in the lower bar—that includes both the user’s original prompt and the assistant’s full reply.
Why this matters:
Right now, sharing outputs to friends, colleagues or social media is a clunky, multi-step process:
• Copying text
• Switching apps
• Screenshotting
• Rebuilding the conversation elsewhere
That discourages sharing and kills organic word-of-mouth promotion.
Most users won’t go the extra mile—people are lazy by default. If it’s not frictionless, they’ll skip it. You’re losing out on thousands of free marketing touchpoints every day because there’s no quick way for users to show off ChatGPT’s capabilities.
This feature would:
• Boost virality: The easier it is to share, the more people will do it
• Preserve conversation context: Including the prompt is essential for clarity and credibility
• Drive adoption: Real-world examples from real users are more persuasive than ads
• Support edge use cases: Great for educators, tech bloggers, customer support teams, UX reviewers, and creators
Implementation Suggestion:
• Add a “Share” icon next to “Copy” and “Thumbs Up/Down”
• Export as a stylized card or link with formatted prompt + reply
• Support link previews for X, Bluesky, Reddit, Threads, LinkedIn, Slack, etc.

This should be fast-tracked. You’re leaving real reach, user goodwill, and network effects on the table.
