Hi OpenAI Team,
I’d like to suggest adding a built-in emoji picker to the ChatGPT web message composer.
On mobile, emojis are naturally available through the keyboard, but on desktop/web there is no visible emoji option inside ChatGPT. Users have to rely on operating-system shortcuts such as Win + ., which many people either don’t know about or don’t find convenient.
Emojis have become an important part of everyday digital communication. They help users express tone, humour, frustration, appreciation and emotion more naturally — especially in conversational products like ChatGPT.
A simple emoji button near the attachment or composer controls would make the web experience noticeably more intuitive without adding much clutter.
Suggested implementation:
- Small emoji icon in the message composer
- Searchable emoji panel
- Recently used emojis
- Skin-tone variants
- Optional, so users who don’t need it can simply ignore it
This may look like a small feature, but it would make conversations on desktop feel much more natural and expressive.
Please consider forwarding this suggestion to the ChatGPT product/design team.
And if this feature ever makes it into the product, I’d happily accept a handsome little early-suggester reward. ![]()
Thanks!
