I run a solo publishing company in South Korea. I have been using ChatGPT for several years, and it has become an indispensable tool for my business operations and creative workflows.
Recently, I realized the critical importance of data privacy for my business—specifically, ensuring that proprietary content, draft manuscripts, and trade data are not used for model training. Because of this, I looked into upgrading to the ChatGPT Team (Business) plan. However, I found that it requires a minimum of two seats. I decided to pay for two seats for a month just to access the business-grade data privacy, even though I am the sole employee. In the end, paying for an extra unused seat wasn’t financially sustainable, so I reverted back to the personal Plus plan.
With the rise of the creator economy and modern technology, the number of solopreneurs, individual publishers, and single-person businesses like mine is growing rapidly worldwide. We deeply need business-level data protection and workspace features, but we simply do not need multiple seats.
Could OpenAI consider introducing a 1-seat Business plan (or an option within individual plans that offers business-grade data privacy and non-learning guarantees for solo businesses)?
I believe this would address a massive market of independent entrepreneurs who want to fully commit to ChatGPT without compromising on business data security.
