ChatGPT provided inaccurate information regarding the timing of a significant news event that led to a misguided decision.
Specifically, I inquired about the potential repercussions for the Tesla stock ($TSLA) considering Trump’s announcement of a 25% tariff on imported automobiles.
ChatGPT assured that the news took an immediate blow on the Tesla stock price of almost a 6% price drop, but Trump announcement was at 4pm CT meaning the market was already closed (and no, it was not refering to after market operation) ChatGPT was making a linear (but false) statement that the stock fell during operation hours because of the news, even when the news were announced after the market close.
I believe addressing this issue could enhance ChatGPT’s reliability in providing accurate information about time-sensitive events, specially for rapid decision taking and analysis needs.
I feel that AI its getting more unreliable with time instead of the opposite.
