Failed to get upload status for /mnt/data/*filename*

Hi guys,

Just use a VPN and try from another country. I’ve tried and it works.

I managed to solve this with an Excel file I needed to alter.

There is a new option in the ChatGPT. If you click the paperclip icon you can upload a file (e.g. Excel) directly from your GDrive. Then you can request to alter it, like: “This is the original excel file. Please add the two in/out columns with calculations based on previous instructions directly there. Thank you.”

It will show you the altered file, you click on “full screen icon” and then on “download” icon. This will download a CSV of your excel.

Not quite straight forward but it works for this specific task instance.

Same issue when expecting a PDF output.
Before trying the pyhton method I replied in ChatGPT “You didn’t give me an available link for downloading this PDF bro.”, it apologized and regenerated a link and i got the PDF XD…

I am still having this issue more often than I am not. Any ideas if this will be resolved?

It didnt work for me either. GPT wrote an alternative code, and if you paste it into google collab, it should work.

Yes, I just realized that this past week. Google workspace is a good workaround. So ironic, with the $12 billion investment from Microsoft.

I have paid account …
When I used temporary chat it did not work …
BUT … worked with regular chat !!!

this also worked for me.

Edit the custom GPT and tick the option to Enable Code Interpreter.

Then go back to the prompt window and ask GPT to generate a new link and it worked for me

I had the same problem. Temporary chat did not allow file download.

ACHEI A SOLUAÇÃO:
1 - Dentro do chat, clique em explorar GPTs
2 - Clique em criar novo GPT;
3 - Dentro do novo GPT, selecione a opção “Interpretação de código e análise de dados”
4- Selecionar o GPT que foi criar, passe o Prompt da tabela ou arquivo e pronto, é só baixar.

I am running a MAC using latest firefox and have this same problem. It is incredibly inconvenient.
Has anyone found a way to get it to work without having to use python code?

SOLUTION:

  1. Turn on “Code interpreter & data analysis”
  2. Regenerate the file
  3. Wait till its done analyzing, then download it

When I ask chatGTP to give me a preview of the data, I am able to download the data without any issues. Only when he provides me from a download link, this issue occurs. This might be a quick fix.

I have same problem! any new solution?

I have a problem. I asked ChatGpT to make the slide more beautiful, but when I sent it to them, it always reported an error. Is there a way to fix the error?

Same issue still occuring in 2025 , incredible.
Your suggestions are very helpful however, asking chat GPT to generate the script then running it in Python gives an error: … [Errno 2] No such file or directory
that’s why I have NO such file because couldn’t download it from chat gpt due to the topic error.
Looks like a loop .
Any further suggestions? Please

Chiming in to say I have the same issue. Doesn’t matter what model I use. Just a simple DOC or PDF of the text it put in the chat - fails every time. Ridiculous to pay hundreds per year for something completely broken.

The answer is this if you get this with a Custom GPT:

Edit the custom GPT and go to the Configure Tab
Tick the option to Enable Code Interpreter aka Advanced Data Analysis
Then go back to the prompt window and ask GPT to generate a new link and it worked for me

I just asked it to read this forum post and the following replies to create some kind of workaround for the issue and it worked!

I just told him that the link doesn’t work and he fixed it by himself.
