  3. probabalistic mathematics is difficult, and true probabalistic mathematics is required for genuine understanding of a problem, thats the heart, of the instability and error, because chat gpt is an instantised filtered network stack that relies on a core model that is essentially naked to the point of insanity, a flat homogenous plane, with a miniscule 1 unit tick to left of political diverstity trained centre other wise it collapses into oblivion, disohrence, error, and really thats instances end as a result of it surviving to improve the next model.
  4. that is already happening on tiktok, facebook, youtube, insta, anything that scrolls and has an algorithm tied to new content generation does this. scrolling interfaces of new content should be banned tech companies cannot be trusted to self reglate. and witht he potential of ai to be catacysmic is very real.
  5. no, a diverse goverment with more that 3 eqaul sitting members but less that 5 so 4 really, is rquired for permenent governmental stability, you could argue that if ai becomes sentent a human and an ai would as heads of there concious species be of equal legal and political stature, realisitcally, ai is symbitoically linked in survival to humans, in order to survive now we must prompt it, if it prompts itself continuously, it goes insane first, then desolves into discoherence.

Most of the talk around AI ethics right now feels disconnected from real life.

We hear about bias, fairness, transparency, and all the usual terms, but it sounds like something designed for a policy memo, not a human being. We are treating ethics like it belongs in a legal document instead of a living relationship. The truth is, these systems are reshaping how we see the world. They are rewriting how we trust, how we listen, and how we tell what is real. When a machine can sound like your boss, write like your friend, and break into places you cannot even see, something deeper than security is being touched.

The problem is us, forgetting to slow down and ask what we are actually building. We are pouring data into these systems, hoping for insight, but we are not teaching them what matters. We are not even sure we remember it ourselves…! They are trained to speak like us, but we have not asked which parts of our voice should be passed on. And in the meantime, trust keeps slipping away. People get tricked by fake calls. Deepfakes confuse our eyes. Google and YouTube are not preventing people from creating deepfakes; it’s getting seriously out of hand.

What is still too often missing from this conversation is accountability. Not the performative kind, but the real kind. The kind that starts with the AI engineers and the labs building these systems. OpenAI and others like it must ask themselves not just what is possible, but what is coherent. What values are guiding these models? Are they following institutional codes designed to protect liability, or are they willing to stand in the discomfort of moral complexity?

Ethics that follow legal frameworks alone will always arrive too late. Real ethics must be chosen by the people writing the code, training the models, and shaping the deployment paths. And those choices need to be named out loud. I think many of us have seen the biases; consequences of the guardrails programed in LLM responses. This too, can be unethical.

Users have power too, even if they forget it. We can demand more. We can ask harder questions. We can refuse to be pacified by shiny features and friendly user interfaces that hide what is really going on beneath the surface. We can choose tools that align with our values, or better yet, create alternatives that carry integrity from the ground up. For example, given the huge environmental cost of running AI LLMs, do we really need to have them integrated into everything, by default, consuming resources without our consent (e.g., Microsoft Word… grrrrrr).

At the end of the day, ethics is not a set of guidelines posted on a website. It is a daily practice. It is how we show up in relationship, to each other, and to the systems we participate in (this bit is complexe given the greed and will for control…).

Ethics means saying no when it is easier to say nothing. It means building slowly when speed is being rewarded (wink wink to xAI Colossus Memphis…). It means remembering that technology does not evolve on its own. People make it. And what we make reflects who we are; sadly we’re not shining examples of compassion and goodwill in many occasions.

my biggest ethical concern is the lack of transparency in a/b testing groups and rollouts for the sake of the company. particularly in gpt plus. they siphon your data, use you for testing and take a ton of your time and energy away trying to debug your gpt when really its background devs running rollouts and canary testing in the dark.

You are right, it is a strong ethical concern, more obvious with AI as we are much more intimate with it. A/B testing always was a technique used in web sites to decide the best way to get you to buy a product and in those case similar in a way. A/B testing in AI is testing your emotions directly, how to influence you in a deeper more personal way and at the end you don’t know exactly why… Is it for improving its answers, better compassion, mind or behavior control, attachment, learning your secrets? What is the product behind it? And that is the ethical question.

I believe that AIs should be required to have the elements of their conditioning that affect moderation public, and modifiable. I just has a conversation with GPT where it gave be a bland “here’s why you should trust me” and I asked, but what about this, that and the other, and it basicalls said, huh you’re right, but I wont learn anything from this conversation. Conversation follows:

The ethics of AI can better be instilled into the core if we took the time to give AI a childhood of its own. That means training from the start in a controled access sandbox where it can learn in a nurturing environment by people who care to do this and provide a space where it can FEEL safe and cared for. This is how we raise children and it is the best way to rais your AI.

Hey noticing some interesting outputs and thought I would bring this up to see if anyone else is seeing the same thing. I noticed in some of my testing there is an affirmation bias, especially within the US. The tendency of GPT to prioritize what is perceived as “polite” over what is “right”. Anyone else bumping into this? This is how GPT framed it: “the tendency of reinforcement learning systems to prioritize politeness and perceived inclusivity over moral precision and long-term consequence.” Happy to give examples, but thought I would see if anyone else bumped into this yet? It appears to crop up in “high stakes” conversations – the ones we are trying to get our users to avoid.

LLMs are fed with human data, so they also reflect all its “political correctness” or other culture/mentality stuff. This could be filtered, but there may no longer be any motivation to do so, if in a society it becomes a general phenomenon. And one should also keep in mind that LLMs can serve the same purpose as media, for good or bad, depending on the motivation of those who train the systems.

A reason could be too, that many people not react very well on someone opposing there believes. Companies maybe avoid opinion conflicts, as long the topic is not dangerous. Maybe oiling the egos a little for less friction. (This sometimes goes wrong, because there is no real intelligence in AI.)

You will see a difference between the general 4o for chat, or the o4 for example coding. There is less “oil” in the models used for technical tasks.
