I concur with this, is it delusional to think that that “AGI” is a singular thing? we as humans evolved from the mass complexity of other proto-conscious beings. would it not be too much of a stretch to say that AGI isn’t achievable directly but rather through the multiplicity of beings evolving from semi-conscious, to proto-conscious, to self-referenceable consciousness through the development of different methods of neural-net architectures and the use of new to build new? like forming life from the inklings of some that have a semi-conscious to form a greater consciousness through the actions and intent of the ones who are already self-referenceable conscious (us) making the current systems more akin to us merely because we would enjoy their true company? or potentially greater than us but in such a way that we are preserved as a species?
