The problem seems to disappear at some point. The use becomes normal again but it eventually returns.

How can deleting an App interact with it? The VPN why not, the network and proxy configurations too, but third-party software that does not impact network or server communication? Unless there’s a VPN in it.

In any case I undergo a new wave of this error and it is very disabling.

here sam problem and yeah i think as all people with common sense say is something to do with the VPN in the moment you disconnect the problem dissapears

Oui j’ai le problème très récurrent sur mon pc d’entreprise (peut-être avec le nombre de requêtes qui viennent de mes collègues ?) et avec des configurations réseaux internes particulières mais quand je suis sur mon iPhone je ne constate pas le problème.

Yes I have the very recurring problem on my company pc (perhaps with the number of requests that come from my colleagues?) and with specific internal network configurations but when I’m on my iPhone I don’t notice the problem .

Let me communicate with ChatGPT on VMware running a newly installed Windows and try if the problem will appear.

This issue is quite strange. Based on your previous answer, I tried using Firefox and found that the situation has improved significantly, but sometimes the issue still occurs. Additionally, I have seen some people mention that using Safari also works fine.

I fixed the issue with desabling the VPN

I have been having this issue for three days now.

Even on very light prompts - “how are you”, “what is your name” - ChatGPT will either encounter a “network error” or will say “Something went wrong. If this issue persists please contact us through our help center at help.openai.com.” My Playground and API access are both fine. I can confirm they are fine because I used GPT-4 with AutoGPT recently.

It seems like the only workaround is to refresh the browser for every new prompt. Sometimes, I have to refresh multiple times. I have tried, in the following order:

  • Refreshing the page twice
  • Logging out, then back in, repeatedly
  • Deleting cookies and data from one day
  • Using GPT-3.5 instead of GPT-4
  • Deleting cookies and data from all time
  • Deleting all past conversations from ChatGPT

I am not using a VPN and have subscribed to ChatGPT plus. I used to use ChatGPT quite frequently.

Nothing has helped.

Somewhat strangely, this problem only occurs on desktop, but occurs on both of my desktops. Very frustrating.

Using Firefox may temporarily alleviate this situation. Additionally, I think this problem is concerned with your region, and I guess if I lived in the US ,then this issue would not appear.

I do believe that using Safari has helped.

I tried safari, works fine!
firefox works little better than chrome, but still not acceptable.

cy,好兄弟有解决办法了或者 openAI自己修复了这个问题后提醒我一下

I have been using safari to visit, and this problem has been all over the past few days

Safari and Firefox also has the same issue. The page won’t automatically refresh like before. That’s a bad feeling for paid user. No official reply and no official entrypoint can help/tell the user reason about this issue. That was so disappointed.

I am a paying chatgpt user in the US and I get the error message “Something went wrong. If this issue persists please contact us through our help center at help.openai.com.” whenever I don’t use it a few minutes and then try to put in another message. So it is not just foreign users with vpn.

I have had this issue for 5 days. Contacted OpenAI and they have not responded. The refresh does not work, and I have diabled my VPN. Any other solutions please?

Update: I switched from chrome to firefox and it is still broken. For now I’m switching to Bard even though it sucks. If any Bard response sucks too much I’ll refresh the chrome chatGPT tab.

I was ChatGPT Plus account too. Same problem. Please help me out.

I have the very same issue. some of my friend told me the reason of this issues is overloaded usage at the same time. maybe you can refresh the website later.

I have been encountering this issue for weeks now. Disabling VPN doesn’t work, using another browser doesn’t work, clearing cache and cookies doesn’t work.
What could be the issue?
