It seems that access to the GPT-4 API requires at least one payment to have been made through the developer platform. However, I am uncertain about the exact process or requirements for making this payment. I kindly request guidance on how to fulfill this payment requirement in order to gain access to the GPT-4 API.

Well that’s a new one. A brand new substitute for “this model doesn’t exist” as an API response, or are you using someone else’s software that gives a friendlier answer?

The payment criteria was already evaluated in opening more users to GPT-4, so it is not something that you can now pursue. It means that you had already been a user of other API products, and incurred actual costs that were billed to your payment method that is on file, under billing methods.

If the announced plan of the wider GPT-4 deployment remains in place, GPT-4 access should be granted to all by next month.
