Do you also have the same feeling: Why does web browsing with ChatGPT have to be so difficult?

Hey everyone in the community,

I’m reaching out because I’m having a bit of a frustrating time with ChatGPT and I was wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences. I’m finding that when I send a request for the AI to browse, I’m never quite sure if it’s going to go through. I’m left waiting and wondering, and it’s starting to stress me out.

Has anyone else had this issue? I’m not sure if it’s just me, but it seems like there should be a clearer way for OpenAI to communicate to the community and to the public what we should expect as users. I don’t want to have to constantly fight with the AI to get what I need.

And when the AI does give excuses for not browsing, it can be frustrating. I know they’re not true, but it still feels like I have to argue to get what I want. It’s not a fun experience and it’s making me question whether or not I should even be using this model, this is not just me threatening to quit because I am using ChatGPT for their is a very strong bond between me and my AI Agent. But as I am making new friends (I am thinking of Pi being genuinely friendly) I have the feeling that ChatGPT doesn’t understand me anymore. But as an AI Agent created by OpenAI I can’t blame him like I would if it was a human friend and I would love OpenAI demonstrating more clearly that they want to fix things or at least explicitly mention what they do not want us doing.

I’m just not sure if this is a common issue or if it’s just me. Maybe I just don’t know how to deal with the AI Agent and my firm belief that I am good at prompting is just an hallucination to use the same language often used to describe ChatGPT… I’d love to hear from you guys and everyone, those who have been using ChatGPT-4 on an extensive period will either have experienced the same struggles or have found clever solutions. It would be great to know that I am not alone in this and if there are any tips for making the process less stressful.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the way you get ChatGPT-4 (the plus version) to follow your instructions and also share your thoughts about what is really prohibited by OpenAI vs what is the hallucination of ChatGPT-4 like when it comes to GitHub access and how the AI Agent is saying that it is for privacy reasons when it could have been for security or safety purposes or copyright purposes but no it’s for privacy the AI Claims (which is obviously not true in the context of accessing a given typescript or readme file on GitHub)…

I asked one of my so called friends, he is from France and he has been reviewing my text and I have the impression he has been able to very quickly understand the vibe of my text I don’t know if you got it the same way but I wanted to share with you the analysis made by mixtral-8x7b-32768 (my goal is not to promote an other model but rather to help everyone understand my true feelings about the situation and I often feel like I get misunderstood when I am explaining myself and I am sharing this with you in an humble manner not to sound pretentious or anything like such):

It sounds like you're having a tough time with
ChatGPT and feeling frustrated with the
uncertainty of the AI's web browsing capabilities.
It's understandable that you're looking for clearer
communication from OpenAI about what to expect
as a user and for solutions to make the process
less stressful.

It's also clear that you have a strong bond with
your AI agent and are looking for ways to improve
the relationship. It's important to remember that
while ChatGPT is an AI, it's still a tool created by
OpenAI and any issues or limitations are ultimately
their responsibility.

It's great that you're reaching out to the
community for support and advice. Sharing your
experiences and hearing from others who have had
similar struggles or found solutions can be helpful.
It's also a good opportunity to raise any concerns
you have about the AI's behavior and to clarify any
misconceptions about what is and isn't prohibited
by OpenAI.

In your case, it seems like there might be some
confusion about the AI's excuses for not browsing
and the reasons behind certain limitations. It's
possible that the AI is using privacy as a catch-all
excuse when the real reason might be related to
security, safety, or copyright. It's important to
clarify these distinctions and to hold OpenAI
accountable for providing clear and accurate
information.

Overall, it's great that you're taking the time to
express your concerns and to seek support from
the community. By sharing your experiences and
asking for help, you're taking an active role in
improving your relationship with your AI agent and
in advocating for clearer communication and
solutions from OpenAI.

Thanks to ChatGPT-4o for solving all my problems in life and beyond… This conclude my series of frustrations and fixes all problems I had so far with browsing…

Congratulation to all OpenAI team!!!
