I am tasked to do a chat bot for a company with 10k employees with ChatGPT agents in the backend. These 10k employees do not have ChatGPT accounts. They prefer to communicate through WhatsApp. What’s the best way of doing this? ---

1. Don’t let OpenAI go-to-market salespeople hear about this 5M+ annual billings opportunity. 2. See that the company wants to pay that kind of money for AI inference, $40 bucks a month per-seat for usage likely when there is direct billing of frontier models and encouragement. 3. Find out the goals and the specifications, and survey if AI in general can meet that. 4. Contract with a service provider who understands development and delivering turnkey AI solutions, and who can provide something more reliable and satisfactory than anything relying on even another third-party such as WhatsApp, which will degrade the experience. ---

You’ll have to run an app server. There is a paid Whatsapp API for this kind of thing and you might be able to leverage an existing SDK. If you need a partner engineer I have significant experience in this space as I have already designed, built and maintain a commercial chatbot (and I run a personal one on Signal) Check out my GitHub history deep linked in my User Card ---

Hi @swatowpengle, A few starting points for your setup: - [OpenAI API quickstart](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/quickstart): covers building an assistant into your own service, where employees wouldn’t need individual ChatGPT accounts. - [GPTs in ChatGPT](https://help.openai.com/en/articles/8554407-gpts-in-chatgpt): clarifies that custom GPTs run inside ChatGPT and cannot be embedded in another app. - [API billing](https://help.openai.com/en/articles/9039756-managing-billing-for-chatgpt-and-the-api-platform): costs depend on usage.
