I’ve been using the canvas in many chats until yesterday, though it’s got its quirks, it’s been opening up into a full window.
Today the canvas fails to open, the best I can get is to show it as a preview panel in the chat thread, but clicking on either the expand arrow icon or the dedicated Open canvas button just causes the app to flash for a second and then revert back to the standard view as though the Canvas open code fails to run.
I’ve tested this in a clean chat thread as well as existing chats. I’ve also tested hard quitting the app and restarting.
The web version works fine however, including the same chat threads that do not work in the app.
This has been the case for me for over a month. On all Windows devices - uninstalling and reinstalling is pointless. For 200 dollars a month, it’s an outrage.
Just an update on this I managed to get a few chats going with a working canvas so I figured it had been resolved, but it just happened again. New chat. I asked ChatGPT to paste some code into a canvas, it did but failed to open the panel as per the video polepole posted.
It’s still like that - also now using ChatGPT pro on the desktop app doesn’t work half of the time. I now uninstalled it and switched back fully to the web version. It’s a shame.
