DALL-E 3 Generating Incorrect Colors and Details Since November 11, 2024

Now already without fast generation sometimes good quality pictures appear and the difference is enormous.

This is where you get support for Microsoft products:

Repeated reference to “PR16”-whatever means nothing for OpenAI-provided services.

While reviewing recent results, I’m unsure about my judgement.

Did the repaired version of PR16 start encroaching the moment multibyte language support, once disabled, was restored, causing PR13’s demise once again?

Been converting images all day yesterday. All were 100% PR13. Same result this morning. But in the last hours I doubt if only PR13 is used in the conversion.

But I have another theory that Bing isn’t as censored as it’s made out to be. When multibyte languages were disabled, there were many more results.

I’m not sure, but for my current observations. There may still be some time to wait. At least now the situation is improving.

At least the point generation is normal now. It’s just that the non-integral generation hasn’t returned to normal yet, and the rest is fine. Now I think it’s going to take some time to wait for them to fix.

If you care about 1:1 images, query for 4:3 in MD, and in Bing permanently convert that result to 1:1.

I can only use the Bing image creator because I can’t access the webpage you used. So, the default image I opened here is 1:1. And I found that the one generated by points is normal, while the one generated by non-points has rendering errors. So the generation algorithms and generation engines of these two types of images are different. This is what I have observed now. And I plan to continue to pay attention to this issue later. After all, all I can do is mark and report problems. What I can do now is to use the points for 15 times a day. Because I originally used up 10,000 points to test this bug. So, I can’t use points anymore. And it’s enough for me to generate a few every day.

Is 4:3 generation moving to PR16 again?

If you use the integral, the quality of the drawing is good. If you don’t use the integral, it is likely that the same pattern and type of the previous error will appear.

Can you elaborate on that?

The current Bing Image Creator is like this: if the image content is generated 15 times with points, it means that a relatively satisfactory generation result can be obtained directly. If it is a continuous generation without points, wrong images will inevitably appear. This is because of the generation mechanism. The Bing Image Creator will route the points generation and non-points generation requirements to different generation paths. The non-points generation in this generation path is the same as the pictures that ChatGPT can generate on the homepage now. It is the original picture with problems in the moon and other things. This is what I am observing now. And this trend has appeared since 1 week ago. But because I basically don’t use Bing Image Creator, I didn’t care about this matter. After all, this is what they are doing now. As for why they do this, I don’t know. After all, OpenAI and Microsoft are companies. Maybe it’s because of profit needs.

I’m now basically only doing 15 queries per day to get only PR13. Next I convert everything to 4:3, where it’s mostly PR13. Sometimes PR16 shows up. And it happens that several conversions in a row.

It is better to do it according to your own needs. After all, some things are not controlled by individual enthusiasts. Therefore, it is important to conduct actual analysis and calculations based on the actual situation, and then make plans to meet your needs according to the fault status. After all, these things are not factors that enthusiasts can control. Therefore, you should pay attention to summarizing and organizing possible fault models when using the service from the beginning.

I use the call-e-3 model directly and just had to shut down my automated pipeline for cover images because I had to regenerate images manually several times to get half-way decent images. This was not an issue a few months ago. I’ll be looking at alternatives for image generation this week. I check each image manually, but can’t be manually regenerating multiple times for each run.

I take it he’s decided to bring back PR16 again even for fast generations?

My suggestion is that if you can get good results, don’t worry about PR13 or PR16. After all, the version number is just a symbol. If you can actually get a good picture, who cares if it is PR13 or PR16? Things are moving forward in waves and spirals. Now it seems that the function of generating pictures with points has begun to return to normal. We can still wait. :expressionless:

I can assume a very strong JPEG compression level
