If a chat is added to a project, the project name appears after the chat name. Sometimes the chat name is very long, and the project name isn’t visible.
Perhaps it would be worth adding an option for each project to choose an icon, which would then appear before the chat name? That way, it would be immediately clear what belongs to the project and what doesn’t.
Create icons like those in the main menu.

Just a quick note: Projects already support icons and colors. You can change them by opening the project, clicking the three dots in the upper-right corner, selecting Project settings, and then choosing the emoji/icon next to the project name.
For now, you're limited to the built-in icons and color options, so custom icons aren't available yet.
Let us know if that satisfies what you're looking for, or if there's another enhancement you'd like to see beyond the current project icons.

But these emojis only appear next to the project folder. I suggested that they should also appear in recent chats. If a chat has a long name, it’s not clear whether it’s part of the project or not. You have to go through an extra step – open the chat settings and check.

I see the distinction you're making now. You're not asking for project icons on the project folders themselves, you're suggesting that the project icon should also appear alongside chats in the Recent Chats list so it's immediately obvious which project a chat belongs to, even when the project name gets truncated.
That does seem like a reasonable usability improvement, especially for people with long chat titles or multiple active projects. Right now, as you pointed out, identifying the project can require an extra click.
I've passed this feedback along to be logged with the team so it can be considered as a potential enhancement to project navigation and visibility.
