Critical Issue – Text Channel Errors & Data Loss

Hello Openai team,

I’m experiencing a major issue with text channels that is severely affecting my ability to continue my work. The problem occurs when I try to submit a new prompt in a long-running text channel:

  1. The prompt takes an unusually long time to process.
  2. When it finally generates, an error message appears saying “There was an error generating this answer.”
  3. The answer is fully generated and visible, but if I don’t react quickly, the text channel goes completely blank.
  4. If I refresh the page, it reverts to an earlier state, erasing my most recent prompt and response.

What I’ve Tried:

:heavy_check_mark: Clearing cache and cookies.
:heavy_check_mark: Switching to a new text channel (works, but I lose all progress).
:heavy_check_mark: Using incognito mode (this works, suggesting a session or cache-related issue).

Impact:

:rotating_light: I am unable to continue using long-running text channels.
:rotating_light: I keep losing access to my latest prompts and responses.
:rotating_light: This is severely disrupting my workflow, making it nearly impossible to maintain progress.

Request:

Please investigate this issue and let me know if there is a fix or workaround that doesn’t involve starting a completely new text channel. If this is a known issue, is there an update planned to resolve it?
