"Could not load this ChatGPT conversation", all my existing conversation now broken by plugin migration!

Hi,

Following the incessant nagging to migrate

I finally did it… I thought, it’s probably the same thing with a different name.

Well the nagging didn’t go away

And my old link did break, so now I don’t have my default config anymore, supremely ANNOYING !

(discussed in How to make a direct link to a plugin? - #3 by shodan )

But that isn’t all, my old chats, are now simply broken !!!

None of them will load.

Yeah, I think it’s time to leave, this keeps BREAKING

Stop changing my stuff, stop breaking what I’m doing.

This is ridiculous, you are an unserious company !

Literally unusable !

Having the same exact issue with ChatGPT! Getting “could not load this ChatGPT conversation” and then a load of “Analyzed” prompts like in your screenshot until it just fails at the end. I think this has something to do with the new UI and whatever backend changes they’ve made alongside that.

Very frustrating, at this point I just want them to provide the backend and I want to run my own local frontend with my own local data storage

I find it very tedious how they keep breaking my stuff and anyone who doesn’t use it the way they thing you “ought” to use it.

Also annoyed at how aggressively this forum terminates threads to prevent any kind of organizing momentum from forming

I modified the timer to be more reasonable. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m also having a similar problem with CustomGPTs that were converted to Personal Plugins. I’m troubleshooting on my side as we speak. Documenting what I can find out to make a more educated idea of what’s going on.

So far, some CustomGPTs and corresponding chats have issues if the suggested entries for interaction with users have special characters leading the CustomGPTs options.

I’ll share more if I get more insights.

@DysTopia

I know this topic is not specifically a Codex issue, but sometimes related Codex issues are posted that contain valuable information. Often, once you find one related issue, you then have to follow the duplicates and other related issues referenced there, as well as check the labels. After a while, you may find that diamond in the rough.

Yes, it is time-consuming, and often it does not lead anywhere useful. But on the rare occasions when it does, the effort is worth it.

Yeah, I know, the documented findings will be there on GitHub, but for this threat thought it would be nice if some findings are shared to alleviate the issues some users have.

With that being said, within the Desktop App under Feedback, Codex Issues + Report generated by the assistant + logs can be sent to GitHub to open an issue ticket with corresponding ID to track,

For those needing the details on this

I think the automatic closure of threads should be disabled entirely, imagine when you’re on google, someone’s got the same problem as you but, can’t reply, so frustrating. And it’s not like it costs more to have an open thread.

Anyway

I also discovered something else.

Since the troubles started, by internal username, which “Joe Smith” changed in the chatgpt web interface,

Now it says

Which is just the random username I gave the one time I tried out sora, which AFAIK doesn’t even exist anymore.
And it seems all my chats from before are just gone, of they’re only on that “other” account
