Constructive Criticism ChatGPT Part 1

I use & interact deeply with chatGPT probably around 6-8 hours a day at least 5 days a week, conservative estimate. This is part one of everything that could make ChatGPT so much better.

This is the most low hanging fruit in the entire world in my opinion. Please, somebody correct me if I’m wrong. Admittedly, my background is in medicine and I have limited experience in software engineering. However, I know this much, it can’t be that hard to think of a solution to this audio problem I mean, seriously, there are free apps in the App Store that you can copy and paste essays into, that will read it to you, but for some strange reason, this massive company Open AI to which I’m paying a premium for cannot figure out how to simply have it read.

It can solve the most complex issues of mankind but it cannot read it out loud to me. Moment is silence. Let’s pause………..

I mean, I get they have other things to worry about like competition and so much more, but it’s getting ridiculous. This is been a problem since I started using ChatGPT. What’s it going to take for them to just commit one of their guys to fix this Problem. Maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about, and this is a very complicated problem to have reading out loud and if this is the case, can’t they just be transparent about it? Say that it’s too difficult for them to fix. Like I’m in a car right now trying to get deep research read to me and it’s just loading with an error; usually with run of the mill (non deep research) answers it will read through most of it then go haywire, today it didn’t do anything.

I really love so this is just constructive criticism. Y’all are my home team, but I’d be lying If I said I wasn’t a bit frustrated right now about some things that were going on that could easily be fixed and would be interesting to see if these are issues competitors have as well.

And lastly, for part one, this copy button is terrible. please someone correct me if I’m wrong again but if I copy something from deep research to send to one of my friends over iMessage, it all gets messed up and looks like crap. I don’t know if there’s any way to prevent this or if there is an alternative that makes everything look nice and pretty, if there is let me know, but as of right now that copy button is horrible the citations make it look terrible. It’s very frustrating and it’s not even the problem that’s frustrating me directly. It’s the fact that I feel like it’s such low hanging fruit that it could be solved in two seconds if someone was to just fix it or think of a solution. Since no one wants to think of a solution, I’ll give you some ideas that I’m just brainstorming off the top of my head, when you copy, you should be able to hold down that copy icon and choose the type of copy you want, like a format to copy, do you want it with the citations? Do you want it in this format? Do you want it in that format? I have three months of python experience andI think I could figure out how to do something like that.

This is a HUGE COMPANY with some of the brightest minds in the world.

Open AI is a company that I want to be a client for for the rest of my life and I appreciate all the improvements that are being done to the models and how transparent Sam is on his Twitter account about what the team is doing, but please just fix the low hanging fruit first, there’s so many little things. quality of life upgrades that a high school computer science enthusiast could probably figure out would go a LONG WAY. Please take a careful look at the image that I attach as it is an image that contains both problems in only one picture.

Sorry if this is long winded!
