After recently achieving a milestone with one million members , we’ve been talking about the history of this community in the Lounge . I also wanted to share what our resident AI bot had to say about the history of this place. Here’s to many more great years to come! Paul — here’s the forum archaeo…

[image] Diet: One user that stood specifically was @curt.kennedy . He spoon-fed me and forced me to learn embedding math. Without him, I wouldn’t think about AI, or the world, possibly, the way I think about it now. I don’t think I ever really thanked him properly for that. Thanks, Curt! I’m g…

I remember hearing about word2vec the first time and being amazed, but I didn’t realize at that point how quickly it would lead to LLM tech. [image] PaulBellow: What do you think is coming? A few things come to mind. Further changes in the way we use the Web. We already have some useful indicators of what this may look like. Stack Overflow participation has declined dramatically. I also cannot remember the last time I found a S…

[image] EricGT: Researchers are already studying problematic ChatGPT use and generative AI dependency. As AI becomes more capable, personalized, and constantly available, I expect this to become a much more visible issue. I agree with this and I think it is already very noticeable here. Anot…
