I am using the CodexCLI for a particular project with its own set of API keys for financial tracking purposes. I want to launch another CodexCLI with another login on another project so that is tracked appropriately. Will this affect my first session in any way? I assume the --login is there for this purpose… or is it just to switch context in one session?
Why would you need 2 logins? You can just run multiple projects on the same account, i mean openai is insane generous with keys fam. Think im up to over 1000
Didnt wanna just say " naw" without asking first …
Why would you need to?
Sorry if I was unclear. I have different API keys under different projects for tracking.
I open a new CodexCLI session, login via OpenAI, select a Project. Agent begins working on tasks.
I open a new CodexCLI session and want to use a different project. It automatically uses the first project unless you pass --login. I want to know if doing this a second time and selecting a different project will affect my first session.
Maaan i aint even pretend i know anything about codex.
I dont. I dont use it.
But i have a gang of projects and agents within them. And none of the agents operation conflict but again i do not know j.s. about codex bro. I imagine since alot of us run multiple agents you shouldnt have a issue ? But i dont know codex.
I doubt it.
But depending on your Tier, rate limits might bite you.
Other than that, I can’t see why you can’t have multiple Codex-CLI sessions running at the same time using different keys.
That said, I prefer to focus on one project at a time.
Yeah, I do a lot of tooling for different projects I am working on and like to keep them all separate. I am Tier 4 - so I am not worried about my limits. I’m also not happening if I am not working on at least 3 or 4 things at the same time.
had to edit this because satire isnt liked - you seem cool , a fellow builder
Today i decided to make a few agents give them memory and contiuity and a discord loop. Few more hours and they will be able to engage with each other.
Yesturday was a book maker.
My thoughts are how the hell do you move that fast to where you still have task in project 1 unchecked like give me some of that focus/energy:) please * donate energy here&
I have a TON of ideas all the time. All day long. They aren’t all necessarily good ideas, but some of them are. I used to keep them in Google keep with a list of certain things that were key components to the idea. Now, I fire up a chat with 4o to flesh out a basic design document with my preferred stack, then switch to o3 and refine it. Then save it in a project folder for when I come back to it later (if ever ).
Most of what I have been using Codex for lately is enhancing my current tooling for Healthcare Integration, which is what I do professionally.
Thats really cool. I actually just started integrating hpaa stuff in conjuction with sha256 and light cryp.
But im fairly ignorant of those standards.
Wonder what the other guy builds too
