I’m seeing a Remote Control issue on Codex Desktop and would like to know whether anyone else has experienced something similar.
Environment:
- Codex Desktop 26.616.71553
- app-server 0.142.0
- macOS
- iPhone ChatGPT app
Symptoms:
- The iPhone can see my Mac.
- Device authorization succeeds.
- Enrollment succeeds.
- active enrollment = 1
- remote_control_enabled = 1
However, Remote Control never comes online.
Connection flow:
Connecting
→ TimedOut
→ Errored
Error:
timed out connecting to remote control websocket after 30s
Troubleshooting already performed:
- Re-authorized the mobile device
- Recreated enrollment
- Removed duplicate enrollments
- Restarted Codex Desktop
- Verified TCP/TLS connectivity to chatgpt.com
- Verified OpenAI traffic reaches the proxy correctly
The mobile app can see the Mac but always shows it as Offline.
Has anyone seen a similar issue recently, especially on Codex Desktop 26.616.x or app-server 0.142.0?
