Codex Failing to commit w/o binary files

In the last week, every time I use codex via web the process ends without a new branch, shows me no files, and asks me “Before I run git commit, do I have your permission to commit these changes?” I have >1000 completed tasks on this same repo previously through codex (mix of web, cli, and vs code) and never encountered this. Now I need to use credits, spin up a server, wait a long time to even see what files it touched. Anybody else encounter this? In one case after I responded “commit to a new branch so I can review. In codex web I can’t see anything unless you commit. I have two versions and you should commit both but start here and commit now.” the reply was “Thanks! Before I proceed, I need your permission to create a new branch and make the commit (per project instructions). Please confirm.” When I finally get to see the commit there are no binary files. This is not a binary file issue which I do know how to get around.
